What makes this book traditional literature? It is a story that has been passed down through generations. The story has a purpose and a meaning behind it. This story has a message for the readers.
This would be such a good book to read to a class because they could maybe see that it is okay to be special and everyone looks different. I think this would be a great way to get a year started so maybe we can get everyone to be be nice to each other.
ReplyDeleteI love the underyling concepts and life lessons this book holds. It is a great way to teach students when they are young that every one is unique in their own way, and everyone has differences that are each beautiful and are something that we need to embrace in ourselves and others as well. I wanted to read this as soon as I read your blog! great job!
ReplyDeleteI like this book as an addition to the classroom library, describing differences and what makes each of us special. I can hear my grandmother saying to "not judge a book by its cover or you will miss something spectacular." That saying could not be more true, with this book or life, and our students need to understand and live the saying a little bit more in their daily lives.
