“When you think things are bad,
when you feel sour and blue,
when you start to get mad . . .
you should do what I do!”
Have you ever found yourself just down in the dumps? Have you ever felt sad or mad and didn't know what to do? What do we do when we have emotions we don't know what to do with?
When you feel this way, have you ever thought how others' feel? Do others feel as upset as you? Are things really as bad as you feel? After reading "Did I Ever Tell You How LUCKY YOU ARE?", by Dr. Suess you will think differently about when you are upset. This book shows different peoples' struggles and it makes you re-think the struggles you are having. If you ever felt any of the ways I listed above, you might want to just take a look at this book to see just exactly how lucky YOU are.
Like I listed in the quote above, this book is full of rhymes and the words you read will just flow together in a smooth way, like most poems do! A poem is a type of writing where the author carefully chooses the language to fit together and to make the readers feel emotion. This book will do exactly that, meaning the words are carefully chosen to create a smooth and interesting story that makes you feel a certain way.

This is a cute book to level with the kids in your room on an emotional level, and to get them thinking of the way they treat themselves and others. Most kids will be able to identify with this book, and it has great rhyming words too, of course!
